For those who desire a space for walking, three parks are available within the town limits of Sparta.
Crouse Park

The park features a paved walking trail, a covered picnic area, and a playground. This park also has an amphitheater for music and is the site of local arts and music festivals.
The park has a walking path 1/3 mile in length, a covered picnic shelter, and fishing access. The park is open to the public when not in use for programming through the County Recreation Department.
The park offers a picnic shelter and is also the location of the Sam Brown Disc Golf Course. The trail leads up Sam Brown Mountain and connects the park to the Blue Ridge Development Center, County Library and Alleghany High School.
