We’re dedicated to preserving and enhancing the natural beauty of Alleghany County. Through our community-focused campaigns, we work to protect the natural environment, improve access to outdoor recreation for all members of our community.
Endangered Tree Program
ASTA is proud to support the preservation of endangered tree species in Western North Carolina. Our region is home to unique and beautiful trees, but some face threats from disease, invasive species, and habitat loss. Through our Endangered Tree Awareness Program, we aim to educate hikers on identifying, respecting, and protecting these rare trees along our trails.
Greenway Grant Donation
Our Greenway Grant Program is focused on improving local trails and greenways to enhance safe and sustainable access to nature. Your donations support trail development, maintenance, signage, and conservation efforts, creating outdoor spaces that benefit our community and encourage stewardship of our natural resources.
